Belief in this experience is described with three official words: religions, prayers and creed. There is no published faith number, temple count, pantheon picker or commandment list.
Creed
"Shape each nation with your creed" is a core sentence, next to helping build or run a nation. The description does not list creed traits, slots or a menu path. Public pages that name traits such as clever, strong and fierce, or that rank commandments such as "honor the creator" and "do not kill," are not backed by the official text. Do not build a nation plan on those names until the in-game Guide shows them.
What you can do with the published fact:
- Pick one nation you will treat differently from its neighbors.
- Use the creed control the in-game Guide shows, if your version has one.
- Watch whether that nation's religion and wars diverge from a nation you left alone.
- If the Guide does not show a creed control, do not invent one. Prayer answers are the other published way to take a side.
Religions
People take up religions on their own as part of the same loop as trade and war. The description does not say you found the first faith by placing a shrine, and it does not name rival churches. Different nations can end up with different beliefs because they live through different land, wars and answers from you. That is a reading of the official loop, not a documented conversion formula.
Prayers
You can answer a prayer or refuse it. The text does not say what a prayer asks for, what an answer grants, or what a refusal costs. Use prayers as information: a nation is asking for something. Then choose.
- Answer when you want that nation to get the help it asked for and you are willing to be the one who provided it.
- Refuse when you want the nation to face the problem with its own age, land and armies.
- Do not expect a published loyalty meter to move. None is listed.
Repeated answers and repeated refusals are different relationships. The game does not publish a threshold where a nation stops praying.
What to ignore
Ignore pages that tell you to pick Sole Creator, Demiurge or an Emergent Pantheon, to staff temples, or to convert worship into a spendable faith stat. Those systems belong to other write-ups. The confirmed choices are creed, the religions people take up, and answering or refusing prayers.
Done when
You can separate a creed choice, a religion the people adopt, and a single prayer you answered or refused, and you are not waiting on a faith currency the description never names.
